Astrological Sign – Aquarius
Age – 43
Sexual Orientation – Bent
There are so many terms people use to describe themselves when they do not identify as heterosexual or homosexual. I like the word bent because I am definitely not straight and the content I have created and starred in reflects these personal turn-ons and inclinations. I am not or ever have been gay for pay. I am a free spirit and like to experiment so I have tried things once that I don’t need to do again, but for the most part – especially now in my 40s – I know what I like, who I want to spend my time with and how. Being true to myself is the key to vitality in all spheres of my life – including (and maybe especially) sexuality.
Marital Status – Divorced
A great deal of the photographic and video content on my website was created in collaboration with my former husband James. For various reasons our marriage ended. It was a very difficult experience, but after a great deal of personal work and some awesome mindfulness centered therapy, I now have a renewed sense of purpose and optimism as I enter this next phase of my life. I wish for him to have the same.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are your passions?
I have a passion for holistic living, organic whole foods and sustainable agriculture. I am doing my best to stay focused on the bigger picture of health and the joys of eating well. I feel so good when I make good choices!
I do my best to give back. I am active in social justice issues with sex worker rights and youth empowerment as my main focus. You can read more about my activism here.
I used to be in excellent shape – even athletic. I ran 10k races and half-marathon, did hot yoga and regular strength training, but stopped training in 2010 (nothing like divorce to turn you into a depressed couch potato).
Right now I am in a getting back in shape phase and, my goodness, has it been a challenge. But I am determined to work on my body just as hard as I worked on my mind and spirit. So this year I joined a gym and got a trainer. So far the results have been great. Come Spring I expect to be ready to participate in races and physical challenges again. A Tough Mudder is in my future!
I love costumes and dressing up. That is one reason I am a huge fan of burlesque. It is also one of the reasons I take Halloween very seriously.
Seska – 2011 – Marvin! My best DIY Halloween costume ever!!
What are your quirks?
I love to take naps. I talk in my sleep – usually in French. I have a particular way I make my bed.
Seska – 2005 – sleeping in the car on the way back from Toronto
What are your favourite quotes?
There is a vitality, a life-force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action. And because there is only one you in all of time this expression is unique and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open whether you choose to take an art class, keep a journal, record your dreams, dance your story or live each day from your creative source. Above all else, keep the channel open. Martha Graham
Until you lose your reputation, you never realize what a burden it was or what freedom really is. Margaret Mitchell
What are your favourite things?
TV – Current stuff such as Castle, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, The New Girl, Shameless, and Vampire Diaries. Yes, I watch The Vampire Diaries. It’s my porn. Such pretty people doing such silly melodramatic things.
Movies – Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Bull Durham, Clue, The Company of Strangers, Donnie Darko, Finding Nemo, Garden State, The Graduate, Grease (1 & 2 – yes, I said 2 – it’s a Michelle Pfeiffer in spandex thing), The Muppet Movie (old and new), Pride and Prejudice (obviously the Colin Firth version is perfect, but the Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen one is also very lovely), Princess Bride, Rebel Without a Cause, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Roman Holiday and lots of Sci-Fi.
Books - I cannot recommend these enough. They are all must reads!
Make Every Man Want You: How to Be So Irresistible You’ll Barely Keep from Dating Yourself! by Marie Forleo
(not really a dating book – its more about how to live a rich and satisfying life).
I also like biographies (I very much enjoyed those of Louise Brooks and Audrey Hepburn by Barry Paris), Kathy Reichs’ forensic anthropology crime series (I dig the Montreal angle), Steinbeck (I cry every time I read Of Mice and Men), and the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (I cannot wait until the next one comes out).
Music – I love female sing-songwriters. Dido is a particular favourite. I also enjoy Lucinda Williams and Cat Power. When I listen to music when I go for a run it’s mostly upbeat pop stuff from the 1950s to today. Lately, I was introduced to some amazing acts in local music scene here in Montreal and my heart has been exposed to such beauty and grit. It’s been quite astounding.
Foods – pasta puttenesca, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, gazpacho, hot and sour soup with lemongrass, tapioca pudding.
Clothes – I find I can’t go wrong with a black knee length pencil skirt! I can dress it up or dress it down depending on the occasion. I adore wearing stockings, thigh highs, and fishnets – especially with cute open toe shoes or stiletto heels. When it comes to just being cosy I love jeans and cargo pants with big, soft t-shirts and tank tops. On my feet? Jack Purcell’s or flip flops.
What and who turns you on?
Geeks, go-getters, people who are multi-passionate, music with a slow but strong beat, tattoos, dressing up, playing pretend, water (taking steaming hot baths makes me feel so sexy and skinny dipping makes me feel so free).
Besides my attraction to real-life lovers, I also have crushes on people in the public eye. In alphabetical order (I hate playing favourites): Maria Bello, Selma Blair, Steve Carell, Nathan Fillion, Ryan Gosling, and Marisa Tomei. I also have this long time attraction to Jeff Goldblum. Just something about him.
Can I chat with you?
I do not use IM, but you can always leave a comment at the end of a blog post or article and we can chat about the topic at hand. It is a great way to connect and it also enriches the www.seska.com community experience.
Can I meet you ?
If you would like to meet me , please come to one of the events listed on my website.
Where do you get your sex toys?
For the last few years I have been getting my toys from Come As You Are - Canada’s co-operatively run sex toy, book and video store. I really appreciate their approach to sexuality and pleasure so I always feel good getting my toys from them. They are located in Toronto, but they also have a convenient online store.
Can you create a custom video or photoset for me?
I do not offer this service.
Can you send me your picture, your autograph?
I am sorry but I am not able to mail out autographed photos, but I am more than happy to sign autographs in person at the public events listed on my website. If you want to see more pictures of me you should consider getting a membership to my site.
