Actors

Actors

They are not saying words that belong to them. They are saying words that belong to others. Are they just so pretty, so charismatic, so compelling? So that… that we believe those words? The words of others?

And so where does that leave us, the movie viewer…

Seeing  portrayals of someone’s truth.

Seeing water-downed, pretty people’s interpretations of the truth.

Is it falsehoods combined with an emphasis on aesthetics?

Would it be more true if it was left on the page?

Does it resonate more because it is on the screen?

Do their tears make it all more true?

-

I am tired of asking questions. I am tired. So tired.

What would I do if I watched my reality on screen or better read it on the page?

My lust, my fear, my divorce, my loss, my hope, my desire, my confusion, my exultation, my grief.

Could it even be interpreted? Could it be captured?

-

I will keep reading.

I will keep watching.

I will keep hoping.

Closure will come. Some semblance of comprehension.

Or perhaps only more questions.
