Changing Needs

Changing Needs

I think I was under the impression that once I wanted something, once I believed in something, that I was stuck with my choice, stuck with my belief. I am learning that does not need to be the case. My needs are changing. What used to satisfy me, excite me, drive me no longer does. There are new things I want to experience. I am still adjusting to this. I think because my new desires, my new needs are so different than those of the past, I worry that new choices will discount the old ones. Of course, they don’t. But tell that to my inner critic. When I was 4 I had a pretty beige dress with puffed sleeves. When I was 8 I had a pretty red summer dress. I had out grown the beige dress, but it was still a pretty dress.
