Content Collaboration

Content Collaboration

I made a new friend. His name is Jacob. He is a content creator and photographer I discovered late at night on TikTok. Like many post-menopausal and perimenopausal women, I have disrupted sleep. I get about 4 hours, then I am up for a couple of hours and then sleep a couple more. It’s a ubiquitous symptom of hormonal change.

Anyway, I was swiping through TikTok Lives and I came across a close-up shot of a young man’s extraordinarily handsome face as he chatted with his audience, complimenting them and connecting with them. He had an energetic presence as he spoke about this being the prime time to be a cougar. I was intrigued. I watched him for an hour straight and saw how hard he worked.

As a content creator in the live stream realm (albeit adult), I saw how he captured and maintained his audience’s attention. He is a catalyst for his mature women viewers as they enter midlife and evaluate what they are dissatisfied with in their lives and what they seek. This is a process I know well, as my midlife crisis at 40 was something special. I had to rebuild my life and create a toolbox of strategies and skills to survive and thrive.

As I watched Jacob do his thing, I was drawn to how this 40-year-old man created a safe space for them to be vulnerable, confident, and expressive simultaneously. Then when I was making my morning coffee I decided to call into his show (he records conversations with viewers for his podcast), and I told him my story as a 51-year-old woman making her xxx comeback and how a big chunk of my audience is young men.

Over the next few days, we became friends as we bonded over inspiring mature women to explore and embrace their sensuality and power. While most of my followers are men and his are women, we have an affinity for mature women and their attributes inside and out. It’s been an undercurrent of my work, even though many men connect with it on a purely adult entertainment level. I’ve always been about documenting my journey as a woman.

He is coming to Ottawa to create content with me. Before you get too excited the nature of this collaboration is sexy but not sexual. He has a signature style (The Red Room) and that will be one of the shoots we will be doing together. I’m so tired of taking selfies, so having someone else take my photo will be reinvigorating.

Yes, I’m so excited about this experience.
