Feeling Poor
Nope. This entry is not about money. Sure, I have credit card debt for the first time in years. It is the result of furnishing a new apartment (good choice), going back to school (even better choice), subscribing to a meal delivery program (not a very smart choice) and some impulsive I-just-want-to-feel-better purchases (manicures, a detox plan I didn’t follow, lots of restaurant meals- not smart at all). I am not being too hard on myself for this because this has been the most difficult period of my life and I was bound to use some unhealthy coping mechanisms to get through it. In terms of dealing with the financial consequences, if I stick to a frugal budget for the next six months I should be out of it.
But that is not the point of this entry. Right now my focus is on my physical health. I am really struggling. I have the worst cold and it has triggered my asthma in a horrible way. I am 10 days into the cold and while I have had mild nasal and sinus congestion my lungs feel brutalized. I have a cough that some times is productive but most often not, but it feels like there is something that needs to be expelled from my lungs. I am wheezing most of the day. I have a few coughing fits a day - some that last an hour. It takes me forever to fall asleep.
I have an inhaler, but I finished it this morning and I am not sure when I can next see my doctor for a replacement. The inhaler would help me for the present but I know my symptoms are about something deeper. I was once able to eliminate my asthma symptoms completely with the help of a naturopath. During that time I was in such good shape. I was eating such a clean and simple diet, exercising daily and intensely. I felt and looked great. I cannot say the same now.
