Been Lying In The Grass Wearing Earplugs

Been Lying In The Grass Wearing Earplugs

Day 1 at Osheaga was enjoyable. I hung out with newish acquaintances and one I had not seen much as of late. They had great energy and made for good companions. I bumped into other friends from my various spheres of life and even 2 former colleagues from my education past. I like music festivals for that. All the mingling. Granted, there was also one person I avoided. Music festivals are good for that too. They bring out everyone - friend and foe.

I discovered some bands like Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and Beach House and joined the masses for the top billed bands. One was Pavement who I knew nothing of as they were active in the 90s. I think I was too busy working to get into music in the 90s - except the whole female singer songwriters thing. I really liked Natalie Merchant for a while there.

In any case, the main reason I dished out big bucks for tickets I cannot actually afford was to support and spend time with the bartender and his band who made their Osheaga debut this year. Interesting and promising things seem to be coming their way. I am happy for them and especially happy for him. I care about him deeply.

Today is another day of music. I think I will be spending it with Miss Sugarpuss. We have been so busy and have not spent much time together since June. I miss her. And I care about her deeply too.
